I am Saragvo, the miracle tree of India. My long green pods, tender leaves, and flowers are all edible and nourishing. I thrive in hot, dry climates, offering families a daily vegetable, farmers a hardy crop, and communities a natural medicine chest.
I am a fast-growing tree producing edible pods and leaves.
Native to India; cultivated across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Water weekly; drought-tolerant once mature.
Requires full sun.
Thrives in 25–35°C; tolerates dry conditions.
Plant in sandy-loam soil; spacing 3–4 meters apart.
Apply compost annually; minimal fertilizer needed.
Botanical name: Moringa oleifera; Family: Moringaceae.
Leaves and pods safe; seeds edible in moderation.
Moderate; foliage reduces dust.
Leaves rich in protein, iron, calcium, and vitamins; pods used in curries; seeds used for oil and water purification.
