I am Strawberry Guava, the tropical berry-guava hybrid in taste. My glossy leaves and clusters of small red fruits bring sweetness and tang to orchards and gardens.
I am a tropical fruit tree producing small red guava-like fruits with strawberry flavor.
Native to Brazil; naturalized in Hawaii and tropical Asia.
Water weekly; drought-tolerant once mature.
Requires full sun to partial shade.
Thrives in 20–35°C; sensitive to frost.
Plant in sandy-loam soil; spacing 3–4 meters apart.
Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 every 2–3 months.
Botanical name: Psidium cattleianum; Family: Myrtaceae.
Fruits are safe; seeds edible but hard.
Moderate; dense foliage reduces dust.
Fruits rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber; eaten fresh, juiced, or in jams.
Susceptible to fruit fly, anthracnose, and leaf spot; prune for airflow and monitor regularly.
Can live 20–30 years; starts fruiting in 2–3 years; peak yield from year 6 onward.
