I am Sweet Olive, also called Fragrant Tea Olive or Sweet Osmanthus. My glossy evergreen leaves and clusters of tiny white, orange, or yellow flowers perfume the air with a sweet, fruity fragrance. I thrive in warm climates, making gardens and courtyards enchanting with my scent.

I am an evergreen shrub producing fragrant flowers.

Native to Asia (China, Japan, Himalayas).

Water weekly; drought-tolerant once mature.

Requires full sun to partial shade.

Thrives in 15–30°C; sensitive to severe frost.

Plant in well-drained soil; spacing 2–3 meters apart.

Apply compost and balanced NPK every 2–3 months.

Botanical name: Osmanthus fragrans; Family: Oleaceae.

Non-toxic; safe for pets.

Moderate; dense foliage reduces dust.

Flowers used in perfumes, teas, wines, and traditional medicine; ornamental value for hedges and borders.

Susceptible to scale insects and leaf spot; prune for airflow and monitor regularly.

Can live 50+ years; starts flowering in 2–3 years; peak bloom in spring and autumn.
