I am Mafai, also known as the Burmese Grape—a tropical evergreen tree with juicy, sweet-sour fruits that resemble lychee in texture but are more fibrous. I grow up to 25 meters tall and thrive in the humid forests of India, Bangladesh, and Southeast Asia. My fruits are rich in vitamins and minerals, and I’m loved for my ornamental beauty and nutritional bounty.

I am a tropical evergreen tree with sweet-sour fruits that resemble lychee, loved for my taste and ornamental charm.

Native to Southeast Asia, especially India, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.

Water regularly during dry spells; keep soil moist but not soggy.

Full sun to partial shade.

Thrives in warm, humid climates between 22–32°C.

Plant in well-drained loamy soil; space trees 6–8 meters apart.

Apply organic compost or NPK 10:10:10 during growing season.

Botanical name: Baccaurea ramiflora; Family: Phyllanthaceae.

Fruits are edible; no known toxicity to pets, but monitor for allergies.

Moderate; contributes to humidity and dust filtration.
