Native to Mexico and Central America; cultivated in the Philippines, India, and Australia.
Water weekly; prefers consistent moisture.
Requires full sun (6–8 hours daily).
Thrives in 25–35°C; sensitive to frost.
Plant in well-drained sandy-loam soil; spacing 6–8 meters apart.
Apply compost and NPK 8:10:10 every 2–3 months; supplement with potassium and magnesium.
