All Details

I am a magnificent, large-fruited hybrid mango variety, often referred to as a "dwarf giant." I produce impressively large, heavy fruits that typically weigh between 500g and 700g. My skin is a beautiful thick yellow with a prominent red blush on the shoulders. My flesh is a deep, attractive orange, completely fiberless, and possesses a rich, sweet flavor with a buttery consistency that makes me a gourmet favorite.

I am a premium, regular-bearing hybrid variety known for my large fruit size and high pulp-to-stone ratio, offering a very meaty and satisfying eating experience.

I was developed by the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR) in Bangalore, created by crossing the world-famous Banganapalli with Alphonso.

Because I produce large fruits, I require consistent and deep watering during the fruit-development stage to ensure my pulp stays juicy and prevents fruit drop.

I thrive in full, direct sunlight for at least 8 to 10 hours a day; plenty of sun is essential for me to develop my characteristic red blush and high sugar levels.

I love warm, tropical climates between 24°C and 38°C and am very well-suited to the climatic conditions of Southern and Central India.

I have a naturally dwarf-to-semi-dwarf growth habit, making me an excellent choice for high-density planting and home gardens where space might be limited.

I am a moderate-to-heavy feeder; I respond well to organic compost and a balanced fertilizer enriched with potassium to support my large fruit production.

My scientific name is Mangifera indica 'Arka Aruna' and I belong to the Anacardiaceae family.

My fruit flesh is safe for pets, but my sap can be irritating, and because my pit is large, it should be kept away from dogs to prevent choking.

My compact, dense evergreen canopy is highly effective at filtering air and providing cooling shade, making me a perfect "functional" tree for smaller yards.

I am a nutritional powerhouse rich in Vitamin A and antioxidants; my thick skin also gives me a better-than-average shelf life for a hybrid variety.

I am generally more resistant to common physiological disorders than Alphonso, but I should be monitored for mango hoppers during my flowering season.

I am a sturdy and reliable perennial tree that can continue to provide you with "jumbo" quality harvests for 40 to 60 years.
