All Details

I am a distinguished and modern hybrid mango variety, often called the "Heart-Stealer" for my vibrant appearance and exceptional flavor balance. I produce medium-sized, elongated fruits with a beautiful greenish-yellow skin that develops an alluring red tinge on my "shoulders" when I bask in the sun. My flesh is a rich yellowish-orange, completely fiberless, and offers a delightful sugar-acid blend that makes me both refreshing and intensely sweet.

I am a premium, regular-bearing hybrid variety developed to combine the intense color of the Sensation lineage with the high-quality pulp of traditional Indian favorites.

I was developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Pusa, New Delhi, as a cross between the famous Amrapali and Lal Sundari varieties.

I prefer deep and thorough watering during my flowering and fruit-setting stages, but I need well-drained soil to prevent waterlogging and ensure my roots stay healthy.

I am a sun-lover; I require at least 8 to 10 hours of direct sunlight daily to develop my signature red shoulder-tinge and high sugar levels (TSS).

I thrive in warm, subtropical to tropical climates between 24°C and 40°C and am very well-suited to the climatic conditions of Northern and Central India.

I have a semi-vigorous growth habit, making me an excellent candidate for medium-density planting (6m x 6m), and I prefer deep, fertile loamy soil.

I respond beautifully to organic manures and a balanced dose of phosphorus and potassium in the early spring, which helps enhance my fruit size and color.

My scientific name is Mangifera indica 'Pusa Manohari' and I belong to the Anacardiaceae family.

My golden flesh is a safe treat for pets, but my sap, leaves, and pit contain natural irritants and should be kept out of their reach.

My lush, dense evergreen canopy is a natural air cleaner, providing cooling shade and absorbing carbon dioxide throughout the year.

I am highly nutritious, with a high β-carotene (Vitamin A) and Vitamin C content, and my firm flesh makes me excellent for both fresh eating and high-quality processing.

I am known for having a natural field tolerance to mango malformation, though I should still be protected from fruit flies during the peak ripening season.

I am a sturdy and reliable perennial tree that can provide you with "Manohari" (captivating) harvests for 40 to 60 years or more.
